Em Cole is a 21st Century Image Maker. Spanning Photography, Film Direction, Animation and Interactive Art, she believes in embracing wider tools and technology to tell better stories with pictures.
A background in Material Design followed by and MA in Information Experience Design at Londons’ Royal College of Art, Em has no formal training in Photography or Film.
Her work combines soft aesthetics with the tongue-in-cheek and hyperreal. Em is most interested in using Images to create space for conversation, critique and self expression.
Based in East London, UK, she works, exhibits and talks internationally.

This isn’t because of a lack of talent, or a lack of desire from agents, creative agencies or clients. It’s a structural problem that must be addressed with big collective actions, such as an industry-wide commitment to always include women photographers on the lists that clients and agencies select from.119
