  • Noise Tote Bag
Noise Tote BagStarting as an exploration of Noise in Urban Spaces, and how we struggle to filter and separate that from the visual business of spaces in the City, I set about on a way to intertwine the two. The Tote Bag was one of many outcomes, but perhaps the most appropriate. The sound clip was recorded, and then visualised on a computer. The visual was then translated into a six colour screen print (printed in fluorescent colours) to express that noisy cityscape into something visual and pleasant. Somethi
  • Trellis Trolley
Trellis TrolleyThis trolley was built as a portable garden that could be taken around the city. A self contained space. Inspiration was taken from the utopic and self-sufficient nature of the Barbican Centre, which is why the Photoshoot took place there. It turned several heads as I walked it through the city and up to the Barbican, and I enjoyed the 'performance' element of the work.

I work as a swimming instructor at Virgin Active Fulham and Virgin Active Twickenham delivering Swimming Lessons to people aged 3 months to Adults. I get a lot of satisfaction out of my job, and enjoy passing skills onto people, as well as observing and adjusting my own teaching methods to suit the vast array of needs and situations I find myself in.

"What kind of Design?" you ask. "Interdisciplinary Design" I answer. I work in an "ideas first, tools later" kind of way, meaning in a project/brief/undertaking I'll begin with whatever is interesting, or needs attention, and then build a body of work around it in whatever medium is required. I come from a Fine Art/Graphics Background, but what I do now is more making/testing/performing, but that's just the way my work has been steered lately. I'm open and adaptable to any creative challenge thrown at me.

This is where I learned I was "into everything". I specialised in Graphic Design Illustration, but I wanted to be on all of the pathways. I enjoyed fashion illustration, product design/jewellery, and graphics. I learned a lot about myself through reflective writing, and learned how to generate ideas. My practice is ever-changing as I learn, reflect and grow, and I thank my time at CSM for this.
