Hi, I’m Emma. A graphic designer based in Margate, UK. My skills cover editorial, print, motion graphics, social media design and branding. I am able to effectively communicate with a variety of different audiences, work to tight deadlines and work well under pressure. My freelance clients include videographers, sports teams, commercial companies and creatives.
In August 2020, I started my own business alongside my freelance work selling gifts and homewares I design.
Before that, I was employed by a multimedia company who are specialists in magazines, digital and events. I worked with the events team designing assets and ensuring their branding is consistent across all platforms. I also designed adverts and editorial for magazines.
I am currently studying a postgraduate course in Visual Communication. The course is centred around the concepts of Design, Society and Nature and is based at The Margate School, an independent not-for-profit postgraduate arts school based in the seaside town of Margate, UK.

In mid-2020 I started my own business, Shop Selfmade. I sell gifts and homewares designed and created by me. I run every aspect of the business from ideation and product design to customer service, packing orders and marketing.
Running the business has taught me skills covering social media management and content creation, video editing, product design and packaging design.
Since starting the business I have fulfilled over 1500 orders with 200+ 5 star reviews and have over 1000 followers on Instagram. Shop Selfmade has also been featured in Stylist Magazine.
