I have recently moved back to London after 3 years living and working in South America were I achieved impressive successes producing events for international brands in Rio de Janeiro. I was uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between international brand’s expectations for events in Brazil and the cultural differences of doing business in Rio de Janeiro. Through my work at small Brit-Brazilian creative agency; Atropik, I have been trusted by some of the coolest brands to bring their events to life. Recent projects include NP&Co’s The Lodge during the 2016 Olympic Games, Floreria Atlantico pop-up bar AXA Seguros party and more recently in London, Letters Live, a renowned charity event where celebrities are invited to read letters of note aloud to an audience. My responsibilities covered all venue operations, coordinating outside vendors including catering, bar management, sound and lighting technicians, set design, managing staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety, overseeing execution and monitoring of events and resolving all event situations on site as well as managing all press communication and social media.
Projects
- Letters Live - Production AssistantLetters Live, a charity event held at the iconic Freemason's Hall, was inspired by the best selling series; Letters of Note by Shaun Usher. For the 3rd year running an impressive roster of famous household names from the worlds of arts and culture such as Jude Law, Gillian Anderson and Michael Palin were invited to read letters out-loud to an enthralled audiences. Some letters are by superstars, some by unknowns, some moving and historically significant, others just hilarious - it was an unforgettable week of great talent, remarkable letters, three important charities, packed houses and an amazing venue.
- AXA Seguros Rio de Janeiro - Launch PartyA Touch of 1950's Rio de Janeiro Glamour Production Assistant at Atropik To announce and commemorate AXA Seguros arrival in Brazil we produced a stand-out party for 500 employees and partners at the Copacabana Palace. Taking over the ballroom and its attached terrace for the evening, guests were welcomed into a tropical chic haven, a decadent salute to the heydays of 1950s Rio de Janeiro and this iconic hotel. Custom made pink flamingos and verdant palm trees filled the space with brushed bronze bars laden with fresh fruit caiprinhas and champagne. There was a decadent buffet of contemporary Brazilian cuisine with canapés circulating the room. The party culminated in a show by legendary singer Vanessa da Mata, a a Latin Grammy Award-winning Brazilian singer.
- Floreria Atlantico Pop-Up ArtRioProduction Assistant at Atropik Voted ‘Best Cocktail Bar in Latin America’ for the past two years, Florería Atlántico, the Buenos Aires cocktail den, touched down in Rio de Janeiro for an innovative Art Rio pop-up bar, ahead of two new openings in 2016. Atropik opened a special Art Rio pop-up bar at the September 2015 International Art Fair. We designed the space in homage to the Buenos Aires bar, a speak-easy style cocktail bar tucked beneath a flower shop in Buenos Aires. It was an Aladdin's Cave of flowers and maritime trinkets. Signature cocktails designed by mixologist extraordinaire Tato Giovannoni were served in small jam jars including the crowd pleasing Apostoles Gin and Tonic with Rosemary and Grapefruit. We achieved national and international press include a post on Vogue Brasil’s instagram.
