Connecting artists to audiences on a global level. Delivering hundreds of millions of views of content to assist artists garner billions of streams and plays of their music. Working closely with all UMG labels and international markets to deliver creative content assets and developing distribution strategies for a roster of thousands of genre-spanning artists, both frontline and catalogue.
My role focusses on ideating, directing and producing content shoots across the globe, Reporting into the Executive Vice President for Global Marketing, with a core focus on Global Artist Priorities, Original Format Development, Bespoke Artist Campaigns and UMusic Experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leading a team of 35 audio-visual creatives (directors/editors/animators/VFX specialists/ producers/designers)
• Responding to briefs from labels for content ideas, in addition to ad-hoc opportunism by looking at artist schedules to pitch concepts to compliment releases plans and drive awareness and engagement.
• Working with International markets to understand the global content pipeline and advise on creative or production where required.
• Establishing relationships and on-going liaison with all stakeholders (artist/management/ label) to define creative approaches and identify opportunities.
• Developing new creative concepts and approaches, using tradition and new media. • Design and drafting of pitch documentation.
• Leading pitches to stakeholders, brands and distribution partners.
• Defining content distribution strategies on both owned and 3rd party channels
• Working directly with platform owners to plan roll-out of artist features (Youtube/Vevo/ Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat/Tik Tok)
• Collaborating with 3rd party distribution networks in a co-production capacity (Copa90/ Awesomeness TV/LadBible etc) to maximise reach and engagement.
• Developing original series across a number of complimentary verticals (scripted, non- scripted, documentary, performance) designed to aggregate multiple artists from diverse genres. Currently 8 live formats, with many in development or pilot stages.
• Lead casting and recruitment for on-camera roles in original series.
• Pitching pilots to wider UMG businesses and budget holders.
• Establishing and nurturing long-term monetisation strategies for all content opportunities. • Writing treatments, scripts and questions for original formats and interviews.
• Developing and maintaining a network of locations, crew, production partners and technology providers to ensure boundaries are continually explored and further pushed.
• On location directing and production lead, with multiple shoots taking place around the world on a weekly basis.
• Establishing and continued development of the best young creative network employed to work directly with artists to create always-on content for their channels.
• Oversee the content distribution and channel management of owned channels and platforms to ensure maximum reach and optimisation.
• Tracking data to review impact and provide learnings.
• Management of multiple budgets.
• Review all content against traditional advertising to ensure value, reach and effectiveness of campaigns.
