I am a graduate of Loughborough University where I studied Fine Art. Focusing on digital and graphic design, I am proficient in Adobe Applications; using Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. I strive to create pixel-perfect images with every design brief. I have also used these skills collaborating on a children’s book, working as part of a team sharing creative ideas and supporting team members throughout the process.
Throughout my time at university, I have also taken the role of Media and Marketing Secretary for the dance society ‘Urban Formation’. During my year in this voluntary position, I successfully enhanced how we engage with our members and the wider audience on Instagram. I have played an important role in gaining a surplus in funding for the society by creating effective marketing materials such as posters and videos.
I have broadened my understanding of Japanese and French cultures by attending evening language classes. Gardening has become a passion in recent years as it compliments my interest in cooking. I have undertaken training in opera and broadway singing which I now enjoy in my spare time. The creative process of converting my physical artwork into digital art is extremely satisfying.

My article outlines the common stereotypes of artists found at Loughborough University - my personal favourite being the artist covered in paint. Together with my article, I illustrated some cute characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would love to write another article. My article can be found here: https://blog.lboro.ac.uk/limit/2020/10/28/artist-stereotypes-which-one-are-you/
- Quarantine Experimentation By Gemma ShrimptonUtilising my time in quarantine I have been able to throw myself into several projects. Improving sewing skills and my digital art has been a joyous break from university deadlines. Experimentation and a passion to learn new skills have broadened my understanding of Adobe Suite Programs and graphic design. I have independently worked to improve composition within my pieces, thus enabling me to create new and exciting designs. I hope you enjoy my experiments!
- Dear Grandma'Dear Grandma', a collaborative project to make an illustration book aimed at children. The project started in March 2017 and concluded in 2018. Amy Selby, Rebecca Wilkinson, Sarah Hannaford, Erica Tang, Tom Frost and myself co-designed the children's book. The book was entered into the following years' competit
