About me
I have always been fascinated by the idea of analysing the garment as an architectural
piece.
This curiosity of understanding and deconstructing it increased much more as I was
looking at my sister’s works in her tailor’s lab. At the age of 8, I realised my first patter
and I made my first garment. From that moment, for the next 10 years, I worked at my
sister tailor’s shop, both as a pattern-maker and as a machinist. During this time I have
experimented a lot of sewing technics, I have conducted a consistent research about
suits’ finishing and I have used several kinds of sewing machines.
All of this, with a strong knowledge of fabrics and fibres, has been refined during the BA course in Fashion Design that I attended at NABA In Milan.
The academic system pushed me to be as quick and precise as possible to meet
deadlines and graduate with the highest score. I have also been hired by the college,
during my last year, as technician and tutor’s assistant, in order to teach other students
and help them to build their own collection
Projects
- Mr. AlbarellaSweet bird of youth SS21 @mr.albarella Through these images, I want to transform the “heterosexual male cowboy into an object of homoerotic desire, characturing the masculine physique through playful use of fabrics, cut and print, which contrast the frivolity of youth and Americana with the heteronormative ideaology of what we think is deemed masculine. This collection in part becomes a commentary on toxic masculinity.
