Communications CoordinatorKent Music
Maidstone, United KingdomFull Time
The communications coordinator is responsible for implementing Kent Music's annual communications plan to broaden the reach and raise the profile of the organisation in Kent and further afield.
From May - August 2020, I project managed Day & Night Fest, a virtual music festival. The aim behind this project is to provide free, engaging, fun and educational content for young learners both in Kent Music's core demographics and beyond while in-person activities are not available.
Working across all the departments of the organisation, I have brought together a fantastic team to coordinate the development of free daily content including masterclasses, performances, interviews and a virtual Open Mic. Keeping the needs and voice of the young members of our organisation has been at the heart of what we do. The project aims to retain and grow engagement with the organisation, further to developing an extensive catalogue of high quality video content, keeping Kent Music at front of mind for students and parents as we move into the new school year.
In Autumn 2020 I will implement the first ever deep dive research project into Kent Music's communications and customers, with a view to developing a comprehensive, research led plan for the promotion of Kent Music in the county. This is being developed with the assistance of senior leadership team, along with all other relevant staff.
I work as a one person department, ensuring the charity's brand is implemented consistently across the organisation. I responsible for the ongoing engagement of students, parents, teachers and staff, providing communication and adding value to their experience of Kent Music.
The role involves commissioning and project managing the design and production of all print and digital marketing, including brochures, flyers and merchandise, in addition to managing a range of digital communication channels such as marketing emails, the Kent Music website and presence on social media.
Events CoordinatorA Door In A Wall
- London, United KingdomFull Time
A Door In A Wall is a live events company, creating immersive games which combine murder mystery, treasure hunts, escape room style puzzles, and immersive theatre. Products are targeted at corporate companies and scale from set packages to large scale bespoke events which overtake a whole venue and public areas.
I managed all bookings and sales for A Door In A Wall, acting as the the main liaison for all staff at every event. I am well versed in the practical, technical and logistical workings required for a smooth and successful event. In 2018 I oversaw over 130 private events for groups from 5 - 250, taking each one from initial enquiry to completion, and meeting 120% of my sales targets. I also oversaw the development of three brand new public events.
My responsibilities included the management and delivery of marketing and communications materials, both digital and print. Designing and maintaining ongoing online adverts, spearheading new campaigns and developing materials such as live event videos and photos and graphic designs. I also wrote all promotional copy, from press releases and website copy to social media posts, along with maintaining relationships with press and blog contacts.
I am always trying to keep informed of developments in discourse, terminology and thinking, particularly I found equality, diversity and inclusivity. I spearheaded a successful initiative to diversify our cast, crew and permanent staff at A Door In A Wall, and developed a bullying and harassment policy for the company based on the most recent thinking.
I worked closely with the Director on all projects including the development of new products, experiences and events, acting as the main client liaison on all events from initial enquiry to invoicing and feedback, building and maintaining relationships with clients, venues and stakeholders, and budget management for individual projects and ongoing business.
