About me
In my final year of studies I have been freelancing independently, using the valuable skills I have developed to work directly with various clients across multiple disciplines. Here I found my love for branding and creating solutions for small businesses that often exceeds their expectations. Whilst branding is my favoured discipline, I have also delved into other areas of the creative industry such as web design, social media marketing and print design. My drive to learn and to keep evolving as a designer has has brought me a long way - I am now excited about continuing the journey as an employee. Email - hannah@hjucreative.co.uk

  • To Step
To StepAn initiative to encourage young people to exercise more driven by the fact that some teenagers simply lack any motivation when it comes to non-compulsory exercise. The concept was driven by the idea to give teenagers a reward if they opt to walk instead of getting a bus, lift or tube. ‘To Step’ enables users to spend their reward on the return journey home, thus encouraging walking to become a habit. The app design is vibrant with a contemporary feel and includes a shareable update feature, as
  • Brewpoint
BrewpointResponse to a brief to create a usable, exciting identity for the new home of Charles Wells brewery that comprises a restaurant, coffee shop, head office and museum. The concept is inspired by a ‘compass/location marker’ and a versatile creative device able to be used across numerous communication touchpoints. The concept was enthusiastically received by the marketing team at Charles Wells resulting in a summer internship helping the team to implement the design.
  • Penguin Books
Penguin BooksA book jacket design for Goodnight Mister Tom a children's novel by the English author Michelle Magorian which follows the relationship of a London evacuee during WW2 housed by a disgruntled old man. The concept is inspired by Israeli designer Noma Bar best known for his illustrations using negative space. The red bike nods to the time period of the book along with the plane propeller inside the wheel, highlighting the contrast found within the protagonist's life which unfolds throughout this w

Since starting as a designer it's been really important for me to create a concept that would allow me to be free of client constraints and create pieces of art/design that could challenge my creativity. My love for art is how I discovered the design world so, Vallo gave me the opportunity to go back to my roots but still apply my industry knowledge and skills. When deciding to expand this concept into a business I partnered up with Jessica Pitts to really progress Vallo's abilities to provide outstanding quality prints with a creative twist.

Starting the summer of 2019, I decided to go freelance as I transitioned into my final year of studies. Expanding my portfolio and client connections to get a taste of what it is like to independently run a creative business. With this brought challenges which I have been able to apply to my own creative abilities and new found interests into the runnings of a business.
