Recently completed a 3 month PR internship programme at Karla Otto London. My first month involved reception duties which allowed me to be exposed to basic administration skills and build up my telephone confidence. In addition to this, I gained valuable experience based in the logistics department of Karla Otto London which involved becoming familiar with Fashion GPS, sorting and tracking sample returns and replacing samples back into its correct place or into the showroom. I have also had the opportunity to assist in maintaining the presentation of the showrooms, ensuring items are tidy and correctly displayed. The final part of the internship saw me moving into one of three PR teams at Karla Otto. The brands I assisted my team included, Simone Rocha, Temperley London, Swarovski, Ulyana, Marco De Vincenzo, Agent Provocateur, L'Agent, Mary Katrantzou, Giambattista Valli Couture, Giamba, Stuart Weitzman, Rochas, Neil Barrett, Nike, Zadig & Voltaire and Andrea Pompilio. My role as a Press Office Intern involved locating and moving sample selections made by the PR assistants to send out rails prepared to be sent to clients and magazines. I am also involved in creating and updating client clipbooks showcasing their brand's press and online media coverage. During London Fashion Week 2015, I assisted on the Temperley London SS16 show and the Mary Katrantzou SS16 show, as they were two of my team's clients presenting in London. My role included, preparing seating arrangements by referring to seating plans and laying name cards on seats. I also helped with laying out press releases and sponsorship information on seats. In addition to this, I was responsible for guaranteeing the seats of important editorial personal, making sure they took their seats without any problems. This was an eye-opening experience, one where I learnt the important logistics that go on in preparation of a major fashion show.
