I am a film maker that likes to work slightly out of the box. I enjoy creating beautiful visuals as well as thought provoking stories. I have done a lot of paper stop motion animation, mixing mediums and combining animation with live film. I work most with music videos and fashion promos. I like to keep a unique twist to my work and not fall to form with all the other work that's out there. I get inspired by many different things including nature, art, people, music and fashion and I pinch a little bit of inspiration from each and try to come up with something unique.
Freelance animation/film director focusing on stop motion paper animation, fashion, music and art.
After graduating I took on an internship at a Birmingham based production company, Nicemonster. Here I helped out on many projects including: assistant producer on several music videos as well as helping out in post production, animating and editing for jobs including work for the Royal Ballet. I have taken care of casting, budgeting, sourcing props and venues, invoicing and marketing. I feel confident on set and enjoy being part of the production, having worked alongside the director I have a good understanding of how a shoot should run and what is expected in the time frame. After a year with Nicemonster I began bringing in my own freelance jobs where I directed and edited myself, I worked with various clients, including working on set with professional models with several crew members to working more in an interview type, more intimate environment. I feel I have gained a real understanding of how to improvise and use my initiative in a such a ‘hands on’ role to ensure a smooth running operation.
I studied Graphic design developing skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver, After Effects. I did varied work from advertising campaigns to branding, book illustration to stop motion animation. I am able to work to tight deadlines and have a good understanding of design structure and design for communication.
