About me
I am a freelance web and brand designer working with a digital agency and independent clients. I've worked on all sorts of briefs from charity website redesigns to branding from scratch but I have a passion for working on projects that use design for social change. I use a human-centred approach to design that digs deep to understand the needs and behaviours of a target audience. Through user personas, market comparisons, customer journeys and user testing, these insights feed into the design and decision making process to create the right designs tailored for the right people. I have a background in Social Anthropology, teaching, design and UX. This multi-disciplinary approach enables me to create meaningful and impactful designs to benefit others. I'd love to take my work to the next level, amplifying the impact a cause can have through the power of creative design.
Projects
  • Food for Thought app design
Food for Thought app designThis was a human-centred research and design voluntary project run by Ideo and Acumen. This involved spending time in a food bank
  • Cervical screening awareness campaign using human-centred design
Cervical screening awareness campaign using human-centred designOn hearing cervical screening attendance rates are at a twenty year low and knowing too many lives lost to cervical cancer, I was inspired to create an awareness campaign targeted at 25-29 year olds. Several health centres have agreed to promote the poster during a national awareness week in June 2019. I hope this will be an example of creating design for social change.
  • The Females of the Species
The Females of the SpeciesAn illustrated book of 50 fascinating female animal facts to amaze, inform and inspire curious minds of all ages.
