I am the managing director of film production company Progressive Productions. I also work on the company’s projects as a producer. I am one of the founders of Progressive; Zoltan Haulis and I created the company in 2009, where we have worked there ever since. In the beginning it was just the two of us developing the company. I only had experience in television, as a producer, so the world of commercial films and photoshoots was quite unknown to me.
Firstly, we only worked on local commercials, then on international productions, then the projects were not only commercial films, but also photoshoots and various parts of television series, as well as documentaries, so the spectrum of projects that we worked on widened. Originally we only worked in Budapest and Hungary, then we opened an office in Vienna, Austria as well. Therefore our company has developed in many aspects over the years.
What makes me quite unusual in this industry is that I do not have a background in film; I studied communication, but then gravitated towards television and finally I got opportunities to work in film, which I enjoyed. Since I started the company, it is hard to name one particular role for me, since I invested all my time and skills in getting Progressive going. My personality is also an integral part of it too, especially at the beginning when we had to do all the tasks needed, next to taking part in all the stages of the production, which meant we were constantly learning and developing new skills. As time went we became experienced and developed systems, simplifying what we had to do.
I studied communication in Budapest in a time when television was very appealing in Hungary. When finishing university I worked at radio stations, then as a producer at a television program for a year. After that I worked with Hungary’s most experienced producer on his television program for 4-5 years, this is where I met Zoltán. We planned to make a documentary film series, which we finally couldn’t sell, but during the process of planning it we gained a lot of experience and contacts, that lead us to the founding of Progressive.
I am currently focusing and leading Progressive’s communication with our clients, but I am also active in other aspects of the company, like marketing, development and productions.
I am adventurous; I accept challenges even with some risk if I see that it is worth it. I can solve issues quickly and I have good communication skills enabling me to be able to connect to a wide range of people. I can be determined, concentrating fully on my goal. I also have determination and endurance.
