Jacob Denno is a freelance copywriter, editor and creative consultant based in North London. Through his command of the English language and his ardour for building brands, he has sold over 45,000 copies of a niche literary magazine, been integral in the transformation of a small design agency into one of London’s top-ranked advertising agencies, and enabled a new property development firm to sell every house from its first project in less than four weeks. He is a huge fan of the em dash, writes to the soundtrack of '12 Hours of White Noise' and can do a pitch-perfect impression of a clucking chicken.Locked Pro Plan feature
A freelance copywriter from an editorial background, with a penchant for building brands. I've written or am writing for Oliver Bonas, Investors in People, Red Bull, Soapsmith, Popshot Magazine, AIGA, Makaton, Plymouth College of Art and Belfield Developments, amongst others.
An editor for the creative network, YCN. The role involved researching and writing editorial features that covered the creative industries for YCN’s online magazine — with a strong focus on advertising, marketing, design, illustration, photography and publishing. It also comprised working on YCN’s other editorial projects, such as its quarterly magazine and awards annuals, and using editorial to connect with and encourage companies to sign up to its Company Membership offering.
The editor and unofficial larynx of advertising agency, Fold7. The role involved writing thought leadership/opinion pieces on advertising and brands, ghostwriting for the agency's partners, content planning, looking after fold7.com and its social media channels, and working with its PR agency to use editorial content to help drive new business for the agency.
The founder and editor of Popshot, an illustrated literary magazine that publishes short fiction and poetry. The role involved looking after all editorial and production aspects of the magazine — from commissioning writers and illustrators for the print edition, to content creation and copywriting for the website and its social media channels, to editorial design, web design and production control. In 2017, I sold Popshot to The Chelsea Magazine Company for a ludicrous sum.
