About me
Hi I’m Jaia!
I’m currently studying Visual arts and Design at the Brit school. I enjoy and working within many areas of Visual arts E.g Graphic Design, Traditional and Digital Illustration, Photography and painting. My aim is to cultivate and better my skills towards becoming a Professional Graphic Designer and/or Commercial Photographer.
My experience ranges from drawing/sketching, Photography using a DSLR, Adobe photoshop, illustrator and indesign. I enjoy combing nuanced concepts with my design and photography concepts experimenting with aspects identity.
I have gained the confidence and love to collaborate, working both individually and groups. I have had experiences exhibiting and curating a display of my work within exhibitions as a BRIT School student with my fellow peers. Working within huge projects like the 2024 Mastercard advert for the BRIT Awards, I have truly seen the art of collaboration and different creative processes. I am also apart of a community called ‘Hey, Sis.’ UK, as an ambassador, working with my partners to create events, content and platforms that create a safe space for young girls/women. It has given me the confidence to use my voice and perspective to help others.

- BRIT X SHELTER - OBIE ShowThis project allowed to explore what 'Home' meant to us and how we interpreted it. For me, I explored the story of my Grandparents, and the history they created at the Windrush Generation. My focus was about how the culture brought made a huge cultural impact and shift within Britain. I explored how corruption within the Home office tried to erase these peoples rights and identities. Overall, this project was a celebration of the Generation as the pioneers of multiculturalism in Britain and how

At Path, I spent a few days learning about Packaging design/brand identity, as well as working on a small project for packaging design. I learnt how to use Photoshop for more than just photo editing, as well as how to apply your designs to the product.
