Graphic Design has become a huge part of James’ life. Studying at Swansea College of Art UWTSD has developed his passion and has provided him with the mature mentality and drive to achieve a successful design career. His strong interest in visual art, photography and the environment has a heavy influence on his work. James has a keen eye for detail and believes that the small things make a big difference in design. James has worked with web design, packaging, branding, advertising and photography. He loves combining hand drawn elements with digital work to create visually stimulating pieces.
Projects
- The Eczema PocketbookThis is a personal project which has been made with oil paints, spray paints, brush techiniques and woodblock prints before being placed onto Indesign to create an informative booklet. The book is a pocket guide to eczema, giving you the right information but with the added visual stimuli. The book was created with sketchy brush strokes with paint and woodblock to portray the itchy feeling and scratches that come with the skin condition.
- Creative Conscience Competition Open Brief- Plastic PollutionThis project started by entering the Creative Conscience Competition with the open brief. After deciding to focus my piece on plastic pollution, the one piece turned into a small campaign aimed to reduce the plastic we use. This was accomplished by targeting Tesco's "Food Love Stories" campaign as leading British supermarkets create more than 800,000 tonnes of plastic waste per year. The project adopted the theme of the "Food Love Stories" campaign in an attempt to mislead the viewer.
