B. 1986 - still learning, still growing... I grew up in the UK, between Norwich, Brighton, Cardiff, London and Bristol. Having spent the last 5 years in a vibrant creative community in East London, I have now opted for a slightly calmer pace of life in Bristol, but my work takes me all over the country and occasionally overseas. I am a visual person, it is my most natural skillset, and the pathways these skills have taken me so far are amazing, bring on the future!
Since 2012 I have been working in a motion design capacity for a projection mapping initiative started by a friend of mine and I, I have been working at all stages from concept development to character design, motion graphics, modelling, texturing, lighting and animating, into compositing and post production, projection mapping and live visual performance. Before this my experience was mostly in abstract painting and drawing.
Starting with character concept development and moving onto scene concept development, and then into modelling, texturing and animating, compositing and ultimately live visual performance for a stage at Boomtown fair. The stage is called Robotika, and the main character in the back story is an 80's throwback cyborg. The final output for this project was live visuals displayed on 2 4mx4m LED walls, framing the centre of a 25m wide stage in a 6500 capacity outdoor arena. This was largely part time/spare time as the funding was low, but the creativity still flowed.
The last time I was in an institutionalised artistic development environment. Since then I have quadrupled the pace and intensity of my artistic development, learning all my skills on the job. I have been pushing my artistic development since the day I left, 11 years ago.
