About me
Jay Greig is a graphite pencil artist from Carson City, Nevada. He was borin in 1980. Greig owns and manages J. Greig Graphics, a company through which he publishes and sells his work. This graphite pencil artist creates detailed illustrations which portray a variety of themes. For the creation of his artworks, he uses a variety of pencils. Greig uses mainly perspective, rich tonality and a number of rendering techniques in order to create depth and movement. The graphite pencil artist is inspired by his life-long love of animals and nature. His graphite pencil drawings have won many awards in numerous national and international juried shows, including the Salmagundi Club, American Artists Professional League, Allied Artists of America, and Audubon Artists. Furthermore, his artworks have been featured in a number of publications such as Western Horseman and American Quarter Hourse Journal have featured Greig’s artwork, as well as numerous other articles and covers on various publications. The drawings of the experienced artist, Jay Greig, have been widely published and dwell in collections in Europe, the UAE and the United States. The graphite pencil artist obtained his Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Nevada, with Summa Cum Laude honors.

Due to its shape, weight and size, the pencil is the most handy and easy to use drawing instrument, it does not require an exceptional pulse to be used and it is easily erased. Graphite pencils are graded according to their softness or hardness on a scale from 8B to 8H: the letter B denotes softness and the H denotes hardness.
