JC began his career as a photography student earning his degree in the studios at Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts, one of Canada’s most reputable photography programs. During his 4-year tenure, JC spent a semester at Manchester Met, received numerous accolades and awards from his faculty, conceived RADMag, a widely-read publication featuring fashion, interior design and photography portfolios, and created an interactive video/photo hybrid app for his graduate thesis. He started as a commercial & editorial photographer for a number of years before landing at FCB/SIX as an art director working on CIBC, Primus, Nestle, and Drug Free Kids. His inquisitive nature, creative mind, and love of emerging technology has made him an integral part of FCB/SIX’s data-first creative’s strategy; he’s worked collaboratively with FCB New York’s data science team as well as FCB NERD in developing a new product that he hopes to launch later this year. His contributions to FCB Canada landed him the Man on the Moon Award in February 2017.

- FCB/SIX x CIBC - 25th AnniversaryHow do you celebrate a 25-year partnership between a data-first creative agency and a financial institution trying to shed its image as an “old bank”? You throw a party. A party that uses RFID + UHF technology and client data to bring 1 to 1 experiences and personalization to life as soon as they walk through the vault doors.
- FLOWWhat do ideas look like? Ideas flow. Trickle. Comes in spurts, waves, spouts. Visible just on the edge of the horizon of consciousness. Tangible and intangible but never the same twice. Constantly changing. Within grasp, and out of reach. Wiped blank from the simplest disruption. Striking anywhere. Ideas have their own time. Sliping between moments and other thoughts. Ebbs and flows.
- Re(play)... it is a hybrid between: photography and video, figure study and technical illustration. It celebrates the pursuit of perfection of technical form and physique. The images were captured at 236 frames per second within the environment where the athlete competes. The resulting sequence of images are presented on an iPad interactively allowing the viewer to play, pause, and scrub forward/backward using the touch screen.

Man on the moonFCB
Saying you’re going to put a man on the moon is a bold statement. Actually doing it is what turns it into brilliance.
An individuals who refuse to settle for ‘Good’ and keeping pushing for ‘Great’ – no matter how high the odds of mediocrity are seemingly stacked against them. They shoot for the moon – and in this case, they actually got there.
They inspired others to get on board too. And have at least one epic tale of triumph over adversity (not the least being the over-worked space travel clichés in the description).F
