Hello, I'm Jen, a graphic designer based in London/Brighton.
I worked for 8 years in account management and marketing in international education, and although this allowed me to travel to some amazing places (see photo of me pretending to write in Korean for evidence) I decided to take the plunge and enrol in Shillington College to pursue a career in graphic design.
I have a passion for branding and I love watching a brand come to life from brainstorming through to logo development, typography, tone of voice and the use of illustrations and imagery.
Projects
- Bushwick Festival BrandingStudent project to create an event branding for a local festival in Bushwick, New York. The event was set up to bring the local community together with activities for the whole family. The type lockup focuses on interweaving paths to reflect the diverse demographic in Bushwick and the purpose of the event, which was to bring people together.
- British English in ItalyBranding and identity for a small, family-run English language school based in Reggio Calabria in southern Italy. The school's tagline is 'Un nuovo modo per imparare l'inglese' ('A new way to learn English') which reflects the core aim of the school; to use art, drama and music to encourage fast and effective learning for children and adults. The custom brush typeface gives the brand a more welcoming and creative feel and seeks to contrast against the local competition which is typically quite serious, expensive schools.

Responsibilities include copywriting for print and web, designing and producing group-wide marketing materials, building and cultivating existing business contacts, seeking out new agent and corporate business opportunities and planning and implementing online and offline advertising campaigns to attract direct business.
