Jessica Cabassa's personal background starts in the Dominican Republic, where she was born and where she spent the first years of her life. At a very young age she moved to Italy, where she studied theatre and cinema in Turin.
In 2011 she moved to London, Uk and obtained her qualification in 2013 as a professional Pattern Maker at the Kensington and Chelsea College.
She has a dynamic background that spans between fashion, costume theatre and performing arts. Her freelancing includes West End theatres, Secret cinema, Immersive cult , Paloma Young and Awarded ballet company Ballet Black.
Her artistic research has been imprinted by the merging of her Caribbean heritage together with the Mediterranean culture influence.
Currently Head of Wardrobe at Central School of Ballet and the touring school 's company Ballet Central, under the Artistic director of Kate Coyne and previously Christopher Marney. Past collaborations have seen choreography by Sophie Laplane, Charlotte Edmonds , Ashley Page , Mthuthuzeli November.
Most recent collaboration with the groundbreaking company Ballet Black and director Cassa Pancho gain her the Award for "Costume Design Recognition" 2022 at the Black British Theatre Awards for "Say it Loud "

- BALLET CENTRAL TOUR 20222Ballet Central will return to touring this Spring for a four-month, 11 venue tour. With a new cast of exceptional dance talent, the tour includes original choreography from Ashley Page, Mthuthuzeli November, and Central's Artist-in-Residence Mikaela Polley, alongside a restating of Cathy Marston's Moving, Still.
- "SAY IT LOUD" - BALLET BLACK AT 20Say It Loud charts the struggles and inspiration behind the formation of this exciting and pioneering company. This piece is choreographed and directed by Ballet Black Artistic Director Cassa Pancho and was created with the Ballet Black Company artists.
