About me

Joachim lives and works in London as an Interaction Designer since 2011. He studied Advanced Design Visualisation & Master of Interaction Design at Umea Institute of Design in Sweden; during the program he gained a valuable real life experience working with design as an intern for IDEO in both Munich & New York for a full year. The final project he collaborated on during this time, 'The Future of The Book' gained widespread coverage and received a Webby Award for Experimental Film the following year. After graduation, he moved to the UK and spent 4 years working for BBC where he was exposed to a wide range of problemsolving platforms, including BBC News App, the pionering launch of BBC Three online and a project with The Space where the Arts was central. Today, he continues to lead the User Experience on the Ocean Intelligence Portfolio for S&P Global Platts; this offers the unique experience of designing for complex visualisation tools with emphasis on cartography and global movements. When able to travel, Joachim brings with him sketchbooks and a Rolleiflex and has been exploring ethereal and surreal landscapes blended with practices of street photography. Strong influences on the 'light medium' include William Klein, Diane Arbus, Vivian Maier & Stanley Kubrick. Further to this, in the interest to pursue wholeheartedly the sideprojects the next project is called Project Insomnia, where Music takes frontseat.
