About me
Underpinned by a love for drawing and digital design, my practice revolves around four key components: line, composition, shape and colour. I find pleasure in abstracting the world around me and take inspiration from everyday surroundings, re-envisioning imagery in a dissected, graphic aesthetic. My design process sees a digital aid to the hand, where initial drawings are manipulated on-screen and produced manually into the final outcome. A personal interest in consumer psychology and identity informs the design process and brings a conceptual perspective to my practice. This ensures a constant consideration into the final outcome and what it could mean to the end consumer. My practice is often informed by lifestyle trends, which influences design thinking and creates reasoning behind colour use and visual themes within my work. The work I create often displays a youthful approach to colour, tapping into the inner-child through playful brights and primary accents. Combined aesthetics through imagery and colour aim to suit both soft furnishings and fashion markets alike, providing flexibility as either a bold statement or as an accent within a wider composition. My practice has evolved to embrace all-inclusive design in an age where accessibility has become a focal point. Thus, outcomes are to be seen in a broader context as translatable across consumers of different backgrounds, ages and genders.
Projects
  • Primary Focus
Primary FocusInspired by a growing interest in consumer psychology and all-inclusive design, this four-part collection explores surface pattern across multiple market sectors, namely: womenswear, menswear, baby/toddler and homeware. Evoking a sense of togetherness, the collection aims to demonstrate and provide universal accessibility across all ages and genders. A graphic and illustrative style combined with an incorporation of primary colours across the board evokes youth and playfulness, whilst simultaneously acting as the collection’s visual backbone. Depicting a notion of mix-and-match, the collection demonstrates timeless essentials with playful coordinates. Each sub-category explores a different theme, drawing inspiration from everyday surroundings and daily essentials to serve a point of focus in our ever-changing, ever-growing world.
