2nd – 4th March 2015 Creative Artworker Hive Health (Freelance – Giant Group PLC) The Hive Group, Haymarket House, 1 Oxendon Street, London, SW1Y 4EE This was short freelance assignment as a Creative Artworker working: • The layout of 5 documents using InDesign utilising their client’s brand guidelines. 30th July - 8th August, 14th August - 5th September 2014. 28th October -1st November, 8th & 10th, 18th - 19th November 2013 Creative Artworker Charterhouse Studio at Musgrave Retail Partners GB, Musgrave House, Widewater Place, Moorhall Road, Harefield, Middlesex UB9 6NS These were freelance contract assignments as a Creative Artworker working within Musgrave’s studio serviced by Charterhouse (Bring ideas to life): • Producing seasonal leaflets and point of sale for Musgrave Retail brand Budgens and Londis utilising template artwork. These were approved and reviewed by the internal client using ProofHQ. 6th - 16th August 2013 Graphic Designer / Creative Artworker M-Integrated Solutions PLC (Freelance – Senitor Associates Ltd) Old Electrical Works, Reynard Mills Business Park, Windmill Road, Little Ealing, London, TW8 9LY This was a short freelance contract assignment as Creative Artworker/Graphic Designer: • Creating new concepts and layouts for their clients such as exhibition panels, posters and come concepts for a cover for an on-site restaurant menu. • Cutting out images and some retouching using Photoshop. 15th - 16th January 2013 Creative Artworker BrocklebankPenn (Freelance) 5th Floor, 58-60 Berners Street, London, W1T 3NQ w: www.brocklebankpenn.com This was a short self-employed freelance assignment as a Creative Artworker: • Creating new concepts for their client’s LinkedIn banners. • Amending flowchart process diagrams, brand presentation document and product wraps within brand guidelines. • The saving of logos as individual layouts (as RGB and CMYK files) for a Toolkit. • Producing header and footer sections for a FSDU product display as layout within brand guidelines.
Grey Healthcare London Lynton House, 7-12 Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9LT Tel: +44 (0) 203 037 3600 Working as part of their Creative team was employed within the Studio as their sole permanent Artworker: • Worked closely with Art Directors on a varied range of European and UK Healthcare projects for many of the best known Pharma companies. • Working with the Creative Team on Pitch concepts and presentation documents. • Amending of promotional materials supplied by client within brand guidelines. • Role included mocking-up, general artworking and layout work. • Liaising with external suppliers such as Image Libraries, printers and briefing retouchers on behalf the Creative Team. • Responsible for the checking of the majority of artwork before it was supplied to clients / printers as packaged artwork or Print PDFs. • Responsible for the archiving of all projects on DVD using Disk Tracker and the Archive server.
The Kysen Group, 16-18 Berners Street, London, W1T 3NL Working as part of their Design Department as a Junior Creative Artworker and my duties included: • Designing and artworking of brochures, packaging and flyers using Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress and Adobe Photoshop. • I was responsible for checking of the majority of artwork before it was distributed to clients / printers. • Providing the supplier or clients with collecting artwork files or Pass4press PDF. • Archiving past projects on CD/DVD using Disk Tracker and backing-up of work using the external and tape systems. • Stock checking and ordering studio materials and printer consumables.
John E. Walker Design Associates, The Studio, 57 Beechwood Avenue, Ruislip, Middlesex HA4 6EQ I worked for John E.Walker Design Associates as a temporary Junior Designer for five weeks as cover. My duties included: • Typesetting and designing of POS, adverts, brochures and other promotional material. • The setting up and flightchecking of artwork ready for supplying as either pdf or packaged artwork files via emailing or ISDNing.
The HB Sign Company, 120 Kings Road, London SW3 4TR As a Mac Artworker/Typesetter at The HB Sign Company in Chelsea my responsibilities included: • Typesetting of sign templates for regular clients in their corporate style using QuarkXpress. • Designing new sign profiles using QuarkXpress from specifications set out by the Project Manager • I also created basic drawings of profiles for the sales department using Adobe Illustrator. • Liaising with the other two offices and the factory. • Processing the film ready for the Workshop to produce screens. • Basic maintenance of the Processor and the lmagesetter. • Costing of each job processed using Filemaker.
This was a six week Saturday course which focused the layout and design of websites using Dreamweaver. We also learned to use Flash to create buttons and animated graphics. The aim of this course was to use the skills I had learned, to create a website with Dreamweaver and a banner advert for the site using Flash.
An evening course one night per week learning website layout and basic HTML language. The aim of this course was to create a website using the skills we learned.
Higher National Diploma (HND) Typographic Design: Merit. This was assessed through modules covered by projects which involved working individually and as a team to meet set deadlines. During this course I gained experience in QuarkXpress, Photoshop and Illustrator, through projects from company letterheads and a company's Annual Report to packaging and advertising campaigns. I have used Word, Photoshop and Director to design a Children's Encyclopedia CD-ROM. I also designed a CD-ROM to train car dealership employees. . City and Guilds Introduction to Black and White Photography: Merit. Which was assessed through a photographic project demonstrating the skills that I had learn't during the course. NVQ Business French Level 1: Merit. A beginners course to learn how to get by in travel and social courtesies, telephoning, sendng faxes, making appointments, escorting visitors, finding their way around the office, hotel, exhibition or town. Which was assessed through four units including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
