About me
Art director/Senior designer www.instagram.com/johnprincebranding johnprincebranding@gmail.com A Brief overview of my story. Since graduating in 2008, I have worked diligently to acquire twelve years of commercial experience in Visual Communication; specialising in Ideation, Brand creation and development and Digital Design. With prior commercial experience gained during my time on the HND Graphic Design program and through internships during this period. I continue to push my abilities and further develop my understanding of, what has become a rather diversified and multi-faceted industry, in pursuit of becoming a more able and innovative practitioner. I am fully versed in Adobe creative suite, Mac Os and Windows; with specific experience in using InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I use each of these programs on a daily basis, and have done so, for almost fifteen years. A number of my projects have required me to diversify my skillset and this has led to me supervising the creation of original content and Overseeing the editing of a number of short-films, which were primarily achieved using Cinema 4D. With other projects having a focus on 3D-modelling, and requiring me to work in 3D Studio Max. In the course of these productions, I had supervised the delivery of concept designs and story-boards, using both digital and traditional production techniques. And as an illustrator, I take pride in creating work that pushes the boundaries of what is accepted by the mainstream, my desire is to produce work that provides the target audience with a vision and to encourage them to question the status-quo. In my role as a Senior designer and Art director, I take a diligent approach to the allocation of time and resources, aspiring to produce work of the highest standard, within the given timeframe. For me, this is a prominent consideration for a Senior Designer and Art director, alike. And having had several years in these respective roles, with experience in working with clients within the high-end fashion industry, I have developed an informed and refined working-practice. At the centre of this process is collaboration and as a team-leader, I have endeavoured to encourage discussion and ideas-sharing within my team, with the outcome often leading to a far more comprehensive end-product. Currently, I am enrolled on a part-time programme via Falmouth University and I am working towards an MA in Graphic Design. The course has allowed me to study around my day-to-day commitments and has provided me with the opportunity to work alongside an international peer-group; An experience that I have come to value, a great deal. A key component of the curriculum is how the modules are structured, allowing the students to engage with some of the most prominent practitioners working today, in areas such as; Film, Fashion, Architecture, Fine Art, and Graphic Design. In conclusion, I am looking to secure a position in which I can develop as a team-builder and creative professional, with the aim of working alongside a team of equally committed professionals for whom their job is more than a nine-to-five. I want to work in a company in which my passion for visual communication can be translated into work of the highest standard, work that provides a vision for the future and contributes to the betterment of society.

App Development: Mental Health App, for Children. As part of my MA, I had chosen to work with industry professionals in attempting to create an App that would allow children to learn more about their mental health. The selected works below, are depicting an original concept that would take the form of a mobile platformer, and would seek to encourage children to engage with the subject of their mental health, through gamification.
  • LEGO-Pitch samples.
LEGO-Pitch samples.A self-initiated project that had been created as part of my pitch, to LEGO. This concept was an attempt to introduce the brand to a new perspective and to push the boundaries of what LEGO could be, as a brand. The Art Direction had taken its inspiration from the rich tapestry of English Folklore and thematically, had endeavoured to explore some of the same narratives as works such as Robin Hood, and Alice in Wonderland. I had intended to call the product range, The Forest Phantasma.
