About me
Hello, my name is Joseph Reeder. I am a Graphic Designer with big dreams. When I’m not designing, you’ll find me drinking tea and dreaming about being an astronaut (I’ll grow up eventually). I come from a large family of the least creative people I know, however, I am one of the best designers this generation have seen (according to my mum).
Projects
  • Muse: Drones
Muse: DronesMuse is an English rock band who have sold over 20 million albums worldwide. This is a recreation of the packaging for the album ‘Drones’. The concept aims for ugly design, this is to generate an uncomfortable and imprisoned feeling for the audience. This atmosphere is brought about by using the power of photography and materials. For example, the exterior is formed from a material that, over time, begins to deteriorate. When in possession of the album, the user doesn’t just receive the music, t
  • Hollister SHADE: Branding and Advertising
Hollister SHADE: Branding and AdvertisingA student group project creating a brand extension for Hollister. Looking into the troubles that parents have while trying to make children 12-18 wear suncream, we decided to use a known and trendy brand like Hollister. The aim was to make suncream cool to use. As the designer, it was my job to produce the aesthetics of the product and to reflect Hollister's attributes. I also had to produce a brand book for SHADE, showing the reason and styling of the suncream.
  • BrandBook
BrandBookA product showing a compelling brand experience in the format of a book. Starting with a previous project where I produced the personal brand 'BOVE', I took those attributes and redesigned them in ways within the book. This book takes you on a mental journey of being a lamb that changes the norm and goes on an adventure without it's flock. The means of this book is to inspire the reader, to be unique and not to follow the norm.

Working for a Fortune 16 Global company has sculpted me into the designer I am today. My role at Verizon Media was to liaise with clients and produce work at the highest standard. Working for such a large company has allowed me to experiment in a number of fields such as; small to large scale printing, social cards, infographics and even animated banners. At the beginning of 2019 Verizon Media decided to have a restructure and rebrand. It was an honour to be part of the committee that was in charge of the change. This also meant it was my job to review work before it was delivered and analyse it to ensure it was following our new guidelines, giving me a keen eye for detail.

I was given responsibility to carry out my own assignments, I had to balance multiple briefs at one time while thinking about their deadlines. I used a variety softwares to complete the work and taught myself new tools and applications to allow myself to progress.
