About me

Kasey Lum comes from a background of motion graphics and design. He jumped into the world of filmmaking in 2014, working with Cycle Media as an assistant editor for 2 years. In 2016 he left Cycle Media to pursue directing commercial work. Since then he's directed for clients such as Okanagan Spring Brewery, BC Cancer Foundation, Sympli, Alo House, Go Auto, and Herschel as well as musical acts like Felix Cartal and Ackee Tecumseh.

  This Is the JourneyI was hired to direct a short film advertisement for Malibu based company Alo House Recovery Centers. Alo House focuses on rehabilitating people that succumb to addiction. I worked closely with the agency Paradam (out of Los Angeles) and Cole Graham (Director of Photography) to develop a piece that was dark and didn't feel like an advertisement. Bob Forrest (Celebrity Rehab) narrates this film using a sort of fragmented speech, emphasizing moments as well as encouraging our subjects along their
