About me
Katarzyna Zarzycka is London based artist with Polish heritage.
Works mainly in acrylic and oil paints.
She has studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland, graduating with bachelors degree.
She puts together her love for art, interests in science and human mind.
Her art is not obvious and it can appeal to the beholder in many different ways, creating very new, unique vision.
She is passionate about psychology, what you can observe in her works, very often making reference to life, human mortality, population and it’s decisions, people blindly following one another, worlds events. She rally around social behaviours.
Her art can be cynical, harsh, irreverent and surreal. In her works she depicts figures within abstract, surreal or pop art elements, often trying to confront different styles, like in eclecticism. Sometimes she puts two contradictory subjects together.
Zarzycka often uses vivid colours in her works. She works gradually on her paintings, layering paint thinly, often changing direction of her work.

While working at the Glaza Expo Design art gallery my role entailed a number of different administrative roles and creative tasks.
My main focus was however mainly placed towards sales and customer service, as the gallery also had a jewellery shop with glass sculptures and paintings. The gallery was providing a numbers of exhibitions per year. One of my responsibilities was to take care of invitations, flyers and also posters while planning the exhibit. I also had to stay in contact with artists to ensure they provided all necessary information about art work. I had to keep current clients and gallery friends list so everyone could receive invitation on time.
With the other team members including the owners, I was also helping out with installation of the art works.
During exhibitions I was meeting and greeting our guests as well as answering questions about art and making conversation to ensure they felt welcome and satisfied, I found that this was helpful with future sales.
I was also responsible for monitoring and keeping art work safe during exhibitions.
