About me
I am a Creative Technologist / Digital Creative / Digital Artist actively seeking exciting new challenges with experience of working in the Digital Advertising, Digital-Out-Of-Home Advertising, Retail and IT service sectors working in a variety of roles covering the full software development lifecycle. I have experience of working in both creative and technology roles, believing that one must understand technology to be able to truly push the boundaries of what ideas are possible. I have previously headed up the Emerging Experience lab at Razorfish London with a remit to look at new and emerging technologies ranging from conductive ink, micro-controllers, VR headsets to IBM Watson and how they can be leveraged by brands. Whilst I was there I worked on a number of pitches working on ideation as well as building rapid prototypes including conceiving and building a VR cardboard headset (before the release of Google's) and the associated app for a pitch for Britvic in less than a week. Most recently I have been working freelance in the innovation space around creative technology in advertising and design as well as working on bringing some of my own IP to market including an IoT device and VR/AR children’s book.
Projects
  • YellowNest - A Promotional Children's Story with Illustrations
YellowNest - A Promotional Children's Story with IllustrationsA promotional children's story that I wrote and illustrated to promote YellowNest, a nursery finance company. The idea was that this could be distributed to nurseries and was a fun way of introducing the company to their prospective clients, parents of young children. An associated video was produced and activity material for children like colouring-in pictures could also be produced.
  • An Experiential Installation for Ericsson at MWC (Mobile World Congress)
An Experiential Installation for Ericsson at MWC (Mobile World Congress)An experiential installation for Ericsson at MWC (Mobile World Congress) held in Barcelona and in their design studio in Kista. The installation combined a 180° projected hemisphere display, surround sound audio, mid-air haptics, gesture control and custom 3D models with a live 360° camera to create an engaging physical experience. The user controls the camera view around the model with their hand movement and interacts with the scene, feeling the relevant sensation on their hand with the live
  • A Pop-up AR Cube Experience
A Pop-up AR Cube ExperienceA promotional AR cardboard cube that I developed to send to prospective employers in the post. The cube which is under-tension as it has an elastic band inside, springs into its 3D form when the letter is opened so acting as a ‘call-to-action’. Its WebAR content which can be personalised to the individual or company, is accessed via either the Chrome browser on Android or Safari on iOS devices so avoiding the need for downloading an app. Each side of the cube provides an interactive AR vignette
  • Collapsible Cardboard VR Headset
Collapsible Cardboard VR HeadsetMy design for what I believe to be the world's only fully collapsible Cardboard VR headset with a conductive foil button which requires no assembly by the user. This collapsible version can be sent through the post easier than the existing design for Google Cardboard, making it ideal for marketing purposes. It could even be placed in the back of books to allow VR content to be triggered by images in the book.
  • Logan Poster (Self-initiated project)
Logan Poster (Self-initiated project)A self-initiated poster design for the recent film Logan and part of a triptych which I worked on based around Hugh Jackman’s performance as the Wolverine in the X-Men movie series. I thought it would be interesting to take a particular character from a series of films and focus on them and their character arc in the story which is especially pertinent for Hugh Jackman as he has played this same character for 17 years over a number of films.
  • WebAR & WebVR Chatbot for ELT
WebAR & WebVR Chatbot for ELTA prototype I developed for a leading English Language Training provider to illustrate the potential of developing an interactive website utilising the latest developments in web technologies such as WebAR (ar.js), WebVR and NLP Engines (Google's DialogFlow) to deliver personalised digital content tailored to the strengths and weakness of individual students closely tied to the physical textbook by scanning QR codes to access the relevant digital content throughout the book so mitigating the nee
