My name is Laila Labba and I was born and raised in "The Sámi capital" Karasjok, Norway. I picked up a pencil at 17 and started drawing portraits; I noticed my line was quite alright and never stopped drawing since.
I am Sámi (the indigenous people of Scandinavia and Russia), and my practice is inspired by our culture and history.
Central to traditional Sámi essence is that it's the humans job to protect and nurture nature, to not collect more resources than necessary and to always leave/give something back. I wish to inspire this way of thought.
