Projects
- TemplesFor a university project, we had to pick an inspirational album or a piece of music and respond to it visually. We were required to create a campaign consisting of album artwork (CD, vinyl, digital), poster, web presence and more. This was a collaborative project where we worked in groups of three. Our group consisted of Stacey Thomas, Megan Allison-Welsh and myself. We looked at the indie/rock band ‘Temples’ focusing on their album titled ‘Sun Structures’. The project began by brainstorming ideas having listened to the music and we went with the vibes and tone the music was giving us. There was something that was quite upbeat and twangy and definitely very colourful. These were things we wanted to portray in our designs; we wanted to make our designs feel bold and bright just like their music.
- AnthropoceneI chose to document the views from Google Earth. I have always been interested in exploring these views and finding new places, so I decided to document how these views have changed over the course of time. In some places, you can look back as early as the 1940s and see just how that area has industrialised due to human activity. This concept of the ‘Anthropocene’ is fascinating to me. I have saved Google Earth screenshots from various places around the world, recording the date and the coordinates. I decided I would collate these into a book, to show the anthropocene taking effect. I created three small booklet style books, one for each category: water, earth and city. This will show how the anthropocene has impacted these three areas individually. Within each of the booklets I will show three different places for each category, with screenshots that are dated and labeled with the relevant coordinates. Image credit: Google Earth
