About me
Lauren Willis is a mixed media designer for fashion, specialising in digital print design, hand, digital and Irish embroidery and embellishment. Applying her sensitive use of colour, surface texture and pattern to her designs, Lauren’s creations are predominantly marketed towards luxury womenswear, however, is extremely versatile within a variety of fashion applications. Lauren has participated in multiple exciting opportunities within the textile industry including an internship at Hand & Lock and aiding AUB student Daria Iwon as an embroidery assistant.
Projects
- Sustaining Your Wildest Blooms...‘Sustaining Your Wildest Blooms…’ is inspired by the breath-taking natural beauty that surrounds us in the form of florals and acts as an escapism to many. This sustainable print and manipulation collection is inspired by the beautiful Botanical Gardens at Kew in London and English Country House Gardens. Through the exploration of a variety of techniques including, digital print design, Wilcom CAD embroidery and hand embellishments, I have created a collection suitable for luxury womenswear.
- Circus ExtravaganzaCircus Extravaganza explores the extravagance of the circus through refined shape, pattern and colour. The projects inspiration originates from a visit to the Continental Circus Berlin in Bournemouth and ‘The Greatest Showman’ film. I am fascinated by the vibrant illusions within the circus created by the performers, surreal colours, costumes and lighting.
