I wanted a career which I loved, enjoyed, challenged and excited me....for me that's the events industry.
A doer with a positive outlook who believes hard work, self belief, empathy, awareness and recognising opportunities when they come along go a long way.
I've had a varied events career so far, working on conferences (from the simple one day with no tracks, to the more complex multi days, multi tracks being broadcast globally), awards dinners, TEDx events, exhibitions, wedding fairs, AGM's to assisting with the VIP area at the LFW Festival, to one day co-ordination roles.

- TEDx - Who doesn't love a TED talk?I had the pleasure of working with FIL International twice, delivering two of their TEDx talks. The first was held at BAFTA Piccadilly and the second at Kings Place. Each having 100 staff attend on site, a variety of different speakers with varied topics (although all relating to the main theme), a live scribe wall to establishing and implementing the technical requirements to be able to live stream the event to their global offices. Oh and acting as the show caller on the day!

Portfolio management of conferences and exhibitions in UK and Europe. Producing event plans and budgets which were proactively tracked and reported against. I managed all the end to end operations and logistics of these events, including responsibility of speaker, sponsor & exhibitor relationships. Sourcing, negotiating and overseeing venue choices, external event partners and suppliers, along with defining and overeeing all AV requirements. Ensuring the flow of the event was thought through, floorplans managed, rooms layouts agreed and F&B requirements defined, communicating this to staff and all relevant parties, as well as organising all travel and hotel arrangements.

This freelance role was to manage two annual multi-track conferences (one being 3 days, the other 2 days) for up to 750 delegates. Including the companies AGM, drinks receptions, award dinners and the implementation of live webcasting to a global membership base. I was responsible for defining the ticket structure, tracking the budget, chairing weekly status updates to key stakeholders, sourcing, managing and being the main contact point for venues, AV, webcast/filiming, event tech, live voting, entertainment. Producing detailed run sheets, ensuring all staff and 3rd parties were briefed, as well as planning post event feedback/de-briefs.
