About me
With a strong focus on concept and playful colour I am a textile and multidisciplinary artist from London. The experiences of Black folk inform the concepts for a majority of my practice whilst incorporating aspects of my own identity. I have a strong desire to create work that highlights particular themes of Black culture and people that are so often neglected in the art and design world (the textile industry in particular) with a naive and comforting approach through and illustrative eye. Bold colours and graphic stylised drawing tend to convey a variety of conceptual themes in relation to Blackness through my practice. Although beginning a majority of my practice through digital process’ I thrive on bringing these designs out of a computer screen and incorporating more process led techniques to adapt my skills to any given brief.

Black and Brown children are not represented in the clothing that is available for their age group and that should change. We often see characters that are created for children’s clothing that tend to resemble the children that are wearing these clothes however it is rare that
