About me
With a strong focus on concept and playful colour I am a textile and multidisciplinary artist from London. The experiences of Black folk inform the concepts for a majority of my practice whilst incorporating aspects of my own identity. I have a strong desire to create work that highlights particular themes of Black culture and people that are so often neglected in the art and design world (the textile industry in particular) with a naive and comforting approach through and illustrative eye. Bold colours and graphic stylised drawing tend to convey a variety of conceptual themes in relation to Blackness through my practice. Although beginning a majority of my practice through digital process’ I thrive on bringing these designs out of a computer screen and incorporating more process led techniques to adapt my skills to any given brief.
Projects
  • gal-dem X Justice 4 Grenfell
gal-dem X Justice 4 GrenfellI had the opportunity to design a t-shirt for gal-dem x Everpress 50/50 campaign which was to raise funds for J4G. This design sold out incredibly quickly and raised the most amount of money out of all the t-shirt designs for Justice 4 Grenfell which was incredibly overwhelming and an honour.

We often see characters that are created for children’s clothing that tend to resemble the children that are wearing these clothes however it is rare that

  • Stance Podcast X British Film Institute
Stance Podcast X British Film InstituteI was commissioned by the British Film Institute to create a flyer for their collaborative event with Stance Podcast. Held at the BFI this event highlighted the ones to watch in the film and TV industry, alongside advice on how to get in to the industry, the invisible roles you don't hear about and how to translate your vision to an on-screen reality alongside a live Q&A.
