In this position I assist in heavy labour for the British Fashion Council’s different events and showcases. I work when required doing long hours and hard manual labour, which requires teamwork and also a lot of self-motivation.
I initially began writing for The Tab as a minor writer but due to the success and popularity of my article was asked to become Features Editor. The Tab is a relaxed outlet that allows me to work on my journalist skills, management of deadlines and to acquire a basic understanding of the running of an online writing platform.
From the success of my short time at The Tab, I was asked to participate in a work experience placement in London for their National site. In this time I interviewed an international male model I had contact with; http://thetab.com/2015/12/09/inside-life-international-male-model-64869 Spoke on the current state of Urban music within the UK; http://thetab.com/2015/12/15/grime-fans-look-like-2015-64824 Was chosen to document and account on the Oxford Vs. Cambridge University Rugby Varsity; http://thetab.com/2015/12/11/a-day-out-with-oxbridge-at-the-varsity-rugby-65136 and boosted my views up to near to 200,000. The page with my biggest stories is here; http://thetab.com/author/louis_bradleyhotmail-co-uk
I enjoy writing for The Tab because it is a relaxed attitude to journalistic writing during my time at university. However, I prefer the sophistication and professionalism that comes with writing for the State of the Arts. It has allowed me to explore my interests in music, art and literature, especially in the medium of Spoken Word poetry. This magazine has given me the opportunity to write for a far more elevated platform - giving me the chance to craft my writing around their audience.
My role was to take customers drink and food orders, process cash payments and assisting my managers and other staff members to keep the running of the restaurant smooth. The position also required me to stay calm in such a pressured environment, and helped improve my verbal communication skills when dealing with customers and staff. I also have experience in working with kitchen staff and maintaining hygiene standards. I believe this shows my ability to tackle any task at hand, with attention to detail and a willingness get my hands dirty.
An insight into literature as well as an in depth study of the English language itself.
