Lucy Early is a 22 year old Illustrator based in Sheffield, she uses her art to explore topics such as class struggles, sexuality and gender roles through the filters of fantastical and sci-fi settings. She predominantly works in Autodesk Sketchbook but is also proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as using dip pens for inking traditional art.
Her latest project, Starblazer Inc., was a sci-fi and superhero inspired comic which took place on the planet of Knowhere, where three runaways have to work together to escape their pasts into a new dimension.

- Starblazer inc.: Escape From KnowhereBelow is a compilation of pages from my Final Major Project, a comic focusing on three strangers who team up to escape their pasts. Traditionally inked using the dip pen method on bristol board to evoke the aesthetic of vintage comics, I then edited and coloured them digitally through Photoshop. - YCN New Now Student Awards 2018/19 EntryThis project includes my submissions into the YCN New Now Student Awards, specifically for the Artfund brief which was to create posters that would "Convince all students—not just art or history students—that visiting museums and galleries can help them step out of their daily lives and get a new perspective on the world." I tried to focus on how galleries across the UK can expand peoples minds while also providing them with a sense of calm.
