- Opening Party - Tate ModernNew Tate Modern Opening Party - June 2016 The New Switch House at Tate Modern has redefined the museum for the twenty first century, creating 10 new floors to place artists and their art at its core. I was contracted to Event Manage the Opening Party - working March - July to plan and execute this historic event. - Fire GardenLondon's Burning offered the chance to contemplate the lasting impact the Fire had on the architecture, outlook and infrastructure of the City of London. Thousands enjoyed the afterdark Fire Garden by the French Compagnie Carabosse in front of Tate Modern. Events Manager, Gallery and Private Events, Tate (March 2016 - Present - Maternity Cover)
• Managed the World’s biggest Gallery Opening Party (6,000 VIPS) plus over 20
associated Gallery and Private art and dining Events at both Tate Britain and Modern.
• Production managed 2 main stage performances by Mercury Prize Winner, Benjamin
Clementine and DJ set by Mary Anne Hobbs.
• Managed a £250,000 budget for the opening alone.
• Managed all areas of production to event management (from health and safety, visitor
experience, security, event hosts, 9 pop up bars, 2 restaurants, 250 catering staff,
cleaning as well as projection lighting, AV, live streaming and 3 BBC camera crews).
• Collaborating consistently and closely with Tate Entertaining, Tate Catering,
Marketing and PR departments
• Managed an Event Officer & associated HR.
My role began in Collection Care in a temp position (Jan – Feb) working to support the administration of both Photography and Registrar departments before being recommended and interviewing for the Event Manager position, which began March and ended July 1st 2016 before being employed as a free lancer.
