Malda Susuri is an artist based in Prishtina, Kosovo. Born in Prizren, she is actively engaged in the fields of graphic design, music, photography, and art. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and her master’s degree in Multimedia from the University of Prishtina. As an experienced graphic designer, she spent over 10 years designing graphic and digital content and campaigns for various institutions and organizations in Kosovo. She also has over 10 years of work experience in theatre, radio, and television. Malda currently works as a Creative Designer at Kosovo Energy Distribution Services (KEDS), Creative Director at Suhareka Winery, and brand manager for SHE Wine. Before that, she was Head of Design at ProCon, a professional consulting company in Kosovo.
She is very passionate about human rights and women’s empowerment in particular. Such passion has been the driving force of her many creations. Her most recent project, expected to be launched in September 2021, aims to expose the impact of sexual harassment on Kosovar women and girls and raise awareness about women’s sexual objectification in the Kosovar society. In 2020,
together with "SHE Wine", she created the "She 4 She" project, which aimed to show appreciation and thank all the women and girl activists who contributed and continue to contribute towards the advancement of women's rights in Kosovo. In 2019, together with young curator Rudina Voca, her trophy design was chosen as the winning trophy to be awarded to the winner of the Council of Women World Leaders Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award. In September 2019, Malda and Rudina also launched “The Apple”, an arts exhibition and
awareness-raising campaign to promote women’s rights in Kosovo.
Amongst her design work, Malda designed three children’s books, now being used as teaching books by all national and local elementary schools in Kosovo. Furthermore, she designed the Schengen Calculator App, requested by the Kosovo government, serving Kosovo citizens to calculate their remaining travel days under a Schengen short-stay visa. Moreover, she designed the ballot paper for the Kosovo Democratic Institute, used on the next 2019 national and municipal elections, and was also engaged in designing various websites for a couple of Kosovo ministries.
She is the co-founder and head of NGO “Vibe”, which aims to promote gender justice, environmental sustainability, foster an inclusive society by confronting and challenging human rights violations and discrimination, and promote other cultural and educational activities.
Malda was recently engaged in designing various promotional materials for “Awen for us”. Focusing on promoting gender equality, her work, inspired by colorful abstract paintings, portrays all women as SHEROs, each beautiful and powerful in her own way.

- I'm not an objectThe sexualization of the woman and her objectification continues to be one of the main problems in Kosovar society. The essentially masculine and patriarchal culture hinders the honest portrayal of the woman, free from numerous prejudices and discrimination. The objectification and sexualization of women not only violates human rights and severely damages their health and wellbeing, but creates unequal and discriminatory societies, where women are treated in a very inferior way compared to men.
