Hey - I’m Maria, an upbeat designer & problem solver, who loves to create work that makes people think differently. I am a midweight designer at The Gilchrist Collection, graduating from Falmouth University with a degree in Graphic Design in ‘21. Since then, I've working in marketing and design. Projects
- Publication: New MasculinityThe brief was to create a typographic publication using articles from the online platform, LS:N. I created an A5 landscape publication on the series 'New Masculinity', using pinks and reds to connote the evolution from the stereotype masculinity was once seen as. I also used a typeface that has recognition for an evolving state. Exploration of heirachy can be seen throughout the physical book, focusing on where the eyes would fall on the page, and the movement the booklet has as it is read.
- City PhotographyThese images are from my A Level Photography course, in which I explored cities such as London and Brighton to find this electric, elusive and daring nature cities hold during the later hours. The colour red can be seen throughout the images, which connotes danger, adventure and power, which these snapshots of the city command.
