About me
My career path has not been a traditional one. My creative ideology was forged at HHCL (agency of the decade 2000) where I won awards for work on Guinness and Martini and was promoted to Head of Art. After a spell at St. Luke’s, entrepreneurialism called and I ran two agencies where amongst others, I worked with the National Lottery and launched a competitor to the National Lottery (not at the same time I hasten to add). Alongside this, I discovered the joy of sets (sorry) and as one half of a directing duo, I shot more than one hundred films and content pieces for clients such as Vodafone, Citroen and Lil-lets. Not a usual career arc for a creative, but I’ve always remained just that, a creative, who lives to solve problems.
Projects
  • Lil-lets
Lil-letsWhen tampon advertising was all lycra and roller skates, Accantia wanted to pioneer a more honest tone of voice as well as exploit that rarest of things: A USP (Lil-lets were the only tampon to expand widthways and they were lubricated).
  • Keep Britain Tidy
Keep Britain TidyWorking to the ridiculous notion that huge amounts of litter is dropped within a short distance of bins, we added a simple 'Keep it' instruction to the already familiar 'Bin it' message. We then conceived a dramatic analogy for the brutal effect the 1,000,000 pieces of litter dropped daily has on our country
  • Monday Lottery
Monday LotteryA competitor to the National Lottery that gave 'unlucky people' more chances of winning big prizes. We saw this project through from start to finish: Assisting the client with presentations for funding, conceiving the strategy and all of the creative and directing the film work.
  • A&E
A&EAn ambitious campaign commissioned by the U.S. channel saw photographer Mitch Jenkins and Mark make L.A. their home for six weeks as they shot 10 of their most coveted stars for a poster campaign Mark created. Filmic and uncompromising, the photographs were taken on large format, using continuous lighting.
  • Martini V2
Martini V2Martini were keen to play on V2's Italian provenance. We conceived a caper that paid homage to the iconic film, The Italian Job.
  • Guinness
GuinnessAs fizzy lager took hold of young palates, the traditional Irish Guinness drinkers began dying out ... literally. We created this graphically powerful campaign to symbolically thrust all that was good and substantial about enjoying a 'big' pint' of Guinness into the front of young drinker's minds.

At launch, we pitched and won the Foxy Bingo, Keep Britain Tidy and Imperial War Museum accounts ... which put us at the top of the Campaign new business league for 2017. We went on to write and direct a handful of 'delightfully surreal' spots for Foxy, featuring Hollywood star, Heather Graham.
