It’s my passion. It is a part of my blood. Photography is not something I chose, but I believe it was a part of my destiny. I was meant to do it. As a Gen Z, camera’s were around, mainly those point and shoot camera’s which my dad used a lot. I picked up the hobby from him, but I wanted to know more about the camera and what more I could bring to using the camera.
My photography doesn’t just tell stories and create memories, it shows a part of who I am. My real identity. The projects I create don’t just show the culture that I belong to, but it is to represent what I feel my culture looks like and how I belong to the British South Asian culture. - Who Am I: Being Bri'eshThe project has created a way for South Asians to make their way into the creative industries and break the stereotypes that have been applied to them as South Asians. Through this collaboration, Mayurkumar has been able to connect with so many people who understand what it is like to live as a creative British South Asian.
