I am a English Language graduate, with a creative background in Fine Art; having previously completed an Art Foundation Diploma. I have always been passionate about Fashion, Photography and Fine Art, and strive to pursue a creative career.
I have participated in a number of voluntary roles within Art Galleries / organisations. My A-Level Illustrations were exhibited in the Arnolfini, whereby I volunteered as to help visitors explore and engage with the Art. During University I also volunteered for the Z-Arts (Manchester) charity, assisting children with Arts and Crafts workshops; providing a fun and exciting experience. I am currently volunteering at ‘Spike Island’ Gallery as an invigilator, where I have enjoyed connecting with a creative community.
Following an inspiring summer internship with French Connection’s sales & marketing department, I aspire to gain further knowledge within the creative industry. Through my degree I have acquired an understanding for how language is used and interpreted within society; a skill highly relevant for copywriting and advertising. Equally, my comprehension for the English language, in combination with such artistic flair, has afforded not only communicative understanding, but also a unique creative writing style.
I enjoy browsing social media such as Pinterest and Instagram as to keep up to date with new and upcoming Fashion trends / Contemporary Artists. As can be seen on my profile, I have many personal projects that I am currently working on (based on current social affairs: Feminism, social media...) using Film Photography, Installation and Paint.
Projects
- 'Light Therapy'The final exhibition: atmospheric spherical lights produced by reworking melted wax in circular moulds. The spheres manipulate light and colour to project a theraputic aura; inspired by SAD lighting. This project focuses on the 'here and now', whereby the circumstances of a space can alter ones outlook. Whilst the lighting aims to aesthetically please, this projects acts as a foundation for future experimentation for using atmospheric manipulation as a means of psychological therapy via design.
