I’m a videographer and rollerskater. I work on my own projects and as a freelance filmmaker. My work aims to find beauty in the details and showcases people, products and events in their best light. My style is naturalistic, of the moment and minimal. I shoot in a nimble way with a lightweight kit and present people and places in ways that draw attention to their uniqueness.
Projects
- Step and RollStep and Roll is a project I shoot and co-produce. It’s a platform that showcases roller skate culture. Our pilot series Rollerskate UK documents some of the skaters, crews and communities in the UK. Creating these videos has been an opportunity to produce content, refine techniques and explore documentary style film-making. Check out www.stepandroll.com and our YouTube channel to see all of the episodes.
- Landed the storyA short fashion film for House of Bilimoria. The director Shipla wanted a video that conveys ideas of heritage, family, connection and displacement. The film was shot during a photoshoot for her new collection, intercuting these shots with old photographs. The film recreates intimate moments, demonstrating the link between fabric, memory and emotion. The music was created by a friend of Shilpa to help create a dreamy nostalgic mood.
- Mellow MovesThis is one of the few projects where I am on both sides of the camera. Mellow Moves exists on Instagram and YouTube as a platform where I document my skate progress, share what I’m learning and experiment with filming and editing techniques. Skating for me offers a profound sense of being in the moment - a time when I create and absorb myself in flow. It has become a creative vehicle and has also given me another tool to use as a camera operator.
