About me
Michael is a design practioner with experience in a wide array of fields including Publication & Editorial Design, Typeface Design, Branding (Public transport), Textile design, Wayfinding, Writing on Design, Design Research and Education, having worked with clients and collaborators in Australia, the U.K. and the Netherlands. He also recently graduated from the Critical Inquiry Lab design writing and curating MA at Design Academy Eindhoven and is currently sessional tutor/lecturer within the Communication Design MA at RMIT University.     PTV Network Sans type familyExtensive typeface family produced in-house for Public Transport Victoria with the PTV in-house design team.
  • Forma identity work
    Forma identity workIn a prelude to changes that would reshape the organisation completely, I worked with London-based arts entity, Forma, on a re-assessment and development of their graphic identity. We explored many diverse directions and experimented with a number of generative tools and processes in order to leave no stone unturned. The resulting work was eventually compiled into a 100+ page document that acts as a working archive of this project.
  • The Breeze Block Book
    The Breeze Block BookThe underlying layout for The Breeze Block Book is an attempt to forego the usual design constraints and directly reference the large, square, block-y forms contained within. To this effect, a loose super scale grid was employed within a rigidly square format. Squared up blocks of text and images were then ‘cemented’ together with the page mimicking the walls and screens featured inside.
