About me
I am a Marketing graduate who has recently completed my ambition of visiting all fifty countries in Europe (bringing my tally up to 56!). My most recent role was a social media internship in London where I was part of the team responsible for the official communications for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. I have extensive experience in a number of social media marketing disciplines, such as social media account management and content creation, and am now looking for a role in which I can apply these existing skills whilst continuously learning new ones.
Projects
  • Humans of Eurovision Social Campaign
Humans of Eurovision Social CampaignHumans of Eurovision was an extension to the Eurovision Song Contest 2017's slogan of Celebrate Diversity; not only did we wish to celebrate the diverse range of fans, but also the diverse and unique stories that they wish to tell. The Humans of Eurovision project was concentrated on Instagram and Twitter, and was an initiative that aimed to give fans across the world the chance to be part of this year’s contest by inviting them to share their personal stories alongside a portrait of themselves in their country explaining what the Eurovision Song Contest means to them. Through this, we built a collection of inspiring, loving, even humorous stories about what makes the competition so special to so many.
Work history
    Social Media Intern
    London, United KingdomInternship
I joined the communications team for the Eurovision Song Contest at Premier as an intern. Here, I was involved in content creation for the official social channels, event organization, and resource planning before going on to spend two weeks on the ground in Ukraine in May. • Developed, planned, and executed the “Humans of Eurovision” user-generated, multi-channel social campaign which saw high levels of engagement and global reach. • Proactively worked with 42 international delegations to ensure their artists were promoted fairly and appropriately across the official channels. This required strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and effective content planning. • Collaborated directly alongside Twitter to create engaging and reactive content during the event which resulted in the channel recording record global trending and discussion figures for Eurovision. • Held responsibility of the Eurovision Instagram account on location in Kyiv; the channel grew by 50k followers, had over 6m Story views, and saw total reach increase by over 200% compared to event week the previous year. • Monitored channel activity and developed insights into how posts were performing on specific channels, allowing for relevant content to be tailored to target the existing fan-base and increase content engagement.

Through my passion and love for the Eurovision Song Contest, I joined the team at escXtra to create content, interview artists, and develop my design skills using Photoshop and Illustrator. • Accredited as a member of the press to report for escXtra on location in the Eurovision annually between 2012 and 2016. This involved conducting interviews with artists, blogging about rehearsals, hosting a continuous live web-blog, and building rapport with delegations and press contacts. • Spearheaded a social media strategy to increase followers and generate increased exposure. This involved posting articles at peak times and encouraging engagement with readers, and resulted in gaining over 4000 new Facebook likes in three months, propelling us to the third most-followed Eurovision site. • Helped organise the London Eurovision Party in Soho, London in collaboration with numerous external partners. Through the effective use of social media for artist announcements, ticket sales, and event news, the event sold out annually.

Education
    BA (Hons) Marketing 2:1
     - Liverpool, United Kingdom
Achieved first class grades in Digital Marketing, International Marketing, Marketing Strategy and Strategic Management amongst others. My work was often cited as being well written and nuanced, whilst also showing strong analytical skills. • Researched, planned, and conducted a twelve-week netnographic study exploring the effects reality television has on society. This involved collecting data from online blogs to be scrutinized and coded to identify common themes and relationships within the data. Alongside this, I wrote a weekly report of my research findings, and was ultimately awarded a mark of 85% for the project. • Shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Management School’ award. • Established a business selling portable chargers. I was tasked with creating a strong brand identity for the product, and achieved this through creating a logo and advertisement posters, and then utilising social media channels to give the brand a voice. • Conducted market research on behalf of the university library in relation to their liaison librarians service. This involved desk-research and primary research determining how students took advantage of the service. After presenting our findings, visual adverts were implemented via TV screens on campus to promote the liaison librarians service.
