About me
Hello there! I'm Michela, a Milanese passionate about fashion, communication, and sustainability. In 2019, I decided to take a leap of faith and follow my dreams to the bustling streets of London. My journey in the fashion industry has been a whirlwind of exciting experiences and projects. From Communication to Project Management, I've honed my skills and gained invaluable insights into the ever-evolving fashion world. But my eagerness for knowledge and desire to create a more sustainable future led me to embark on an incredible academic adventure. I recently graduated from the London College of Fashion, where I pursued a Master's degree in Fashion Futures. This transformative program opened my eyes to the power of sustainability, innovations, and technology in shaping the fashion industry of tomorrow. Now, let's talk about what truly sets my soul on fire - climate change, environmental issues, and social justice. I believe these topics shouldn't be confined to dry statistics and complex jargon. Instead, I strive to make them engaging and easily digestible for everyone. After all, spreading awareness and inspiring action is key to driving meaningful change. So, if you're passionate about fashion, sustainability, or simply making a difference, let's connect! Together, we can explore new ideas, collaborate on exciting projects, and create a brighter future for our planet and society. I can't wait to share my knowledge and learn from others! Remember, the power of change lies within every one of us. Let's be the catalysts of a sustainable and equitable future, one conversation at a time. #sustainability #fashion #communication #positivechange

  • Communicate the change
Communicate the change'Communicate the change' is a project that aims to give a new perception of sustainability in the fashion field by improving individuals' knowledge about the topic. Throughout the project, I analysed the several barriers that make Sustainable Fashion consumption challenging to consumers. The final outcome is a one-page website that works as an online poster. It easily explains the multiple hidden aspects of Sustainable Fashion as an ethical approach to life and a form of self-expression. http
  • FEELJEWEL
FEELJEWELThe inspiration for this project came from the willingness to counter the inability that human beings have to convey emotions with words. As every feeling is unique, sometimes words work like a barrier, limiting our expression. Moreover, in the last decades, technologies have become our primary communication tool making emotions even less meaningful and complex to interpret through a screen. FEELJEWEL is head jewellery that allows individuals to convey emotions visually without using words. The
  • PATCH.
PATCH.‘Patch’ is a personal project born from the idea of tackling the issue of textile production waste in the fashion industry. It has been estimated that 400 billion m2 of textiles are manufactured annually; out of which 15% ends up on the cutting room floors, and subsequently thrown away in landfills. If every tonne of discarded textiles was instead reused, rather than being thrown away, it would stop tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere and ultimately reduce environmental pollution. After
  • INNOVATIVE MATERIALS - A guide to the sustainable textile materials understanding
INNOVATIVE MATERIALS - A guide to the sustainable textile materials understandingThis project is the result of a personal research about sustainable and animal-free materials, as well as the rising of ‘green’ brands. The idealisation of this guide comes from the awareness that knowledge resources on the topic are limited and not so well-spread. ‘Innovative Materials’ is a guide, a sort of encyclopaedia, that contains pivotal information about all the existing sustainable fabrics. Each chapter of the book focuses on a specific textile alternative. Firstly, it provides an ove

MA Fashion Futures places sustainability at the heart of fashion practice to help shape the next generation of fashion practitioners who prioritise environmental, social, economic and cultural criteria. Students are encouraged to critique the nature and purpose of design in a rapidly changing world, imagining and envisioning alternative ways in which fashion will be created and experienced in the future, whilst grounding their research in an understanding of the immense challenges that face the industry and wider society today.
