About me
My name is Michelle Akiwumi, I have completed my undergraduate in July 2022. Having studied BA Hons Media and Communication I have been able to create and explore different aspects of the media world. In addition to completing my degree I have a diploma from the New York Institute of Photography. Through this course I was able to learn the inner workings pertaining to the photojournalism industry which granted me further skills to work broadly in any fields that are related.

    2.66786°S, 37.28207°EMy time as a wildlife photographer brought me to the vast and diverse Amboseli National Park. I learnt that Amboseli in of itself is a dried lake with two smaller permanent lakes that are regularly used by the surrounding animals. Beginning at the exact coordinates 1.20657°S, 36.81161°E finishing the 6 hours 18mins at the coordinates 0.58987°N, 37.60362°E also known as Elephant Bedroom Camp. I have learnt when the best times are to get the best photos, by watching the movements of the wrestlers, and annalysing where they are in their story. It requires a combination of technical skill, knowledge of lighting, and an understanding of the sport to produce visually stunning and dynamic images that showcase the athleticism, power, and grace of the wrestlers. Additionally, I also work effectively with the athletes and coaches to create visually appealing and impactful images.
