Hello there, I'm Miguel.
I was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal.
Just like my ancestors, I love to wonder the world.
One thing my travels have taught me is how to fix things on the spot. Or as we call it, desenrascanço. Loosely, it's the Portuguese word for the ability to solve problems without having the full understanding or the adequate tools to do so, simply by being resourceful or by applying old knowledge to new situations.
Before advertising, I managed a beach restaurant in Sydney, ran a cocktail bar in Shoreditch and once travelled 11,303 miles in a single day just because.
When I'm not working, I can be found filling Instagram with lovely travel shots along with my so-bad-they’re-good hashtags.
When I am working, I'm a Midweight Creative / Copywriter currently at Iris Worldwide London.
I consider myself a through-the-line creative. I’m comfortable coming up with local activations and social ideas as well as radio, TV, all the way to brand pieces, big thinking, territories, and manifestos. I also like to put my hand up for pitches and have helped win a few. Gotta love them long nights.
Recently, I’ve gotten involved with the Iris placement scheme because it's always nice to send the elevator back down.
