About me
I am a commercially experienced, dynamic and creative graphic designer. For the last ten years, I have managed projects for national and global brands in the magazine industry following a successful corporate role. I can deliver highly effective solutions to a wide range of consumers, in multiple media, whilst managing tight time and budget constraints. I have art-directed projects across all media channels, from concept to delivery. As an excellent team player, I enjoy working closely with colleagues, and have worked directly with Lonely Planet commercial teams as their first point of call and also with external contributors. I’ve directed BBC Olive food magazine and Lonely Planet’s monthly travel publications in print and online, ensuring compliance with design processes and brand guidelines and guaranteeing consumer endorsement and satisfaction.

Muhu is a tiny island off Estonia and is bypassed even by Estonians, who tend to rush through it on their way to the larger island of Saaremaa just beyond. I travelled with photographer Adrienne Pitts one summer to meet the residents, spending time with craftspeople, historians, chefs and story-tellers among others. It's one of those places that people plan to stay in for a few months or a year, and then end up never

As the world’s leading travel authority, and one of today’s most iconic and loved travel brands, Lonely Planet produced a monthly print and digital magazine in the UK, the US and across Europe. I worked as part of the team producing the UK edition for 5 years, and during this time, it grew to become the UK's best-selling travel magazine. Our content was used in print and online across international editions of the magazine and the wider brand, giving maximum value for money whilst maintaining the extremely high creative standards. As my role developed, I became responsible for working relationships with key stakeholders across Lonely Planet, ensuring that we enhanced the magazine's commercial value.
Key achievements:
● Part of the team that won Magazine of the Year at the 2017 Travel Media Awards
● I led the creative production of the magazine to hit monthly publication and creative deadlines
● Utilised all the creative services to produce a magazine that worked for consumers across a number of media platforms, adding value to the existing content spend
● Worked with the Advertising teams on bespoke print and digital briefs and pitches
● Produced branded supplements that generated a fifth of the magazine’s advertising budget
● Managed the magazine’s annual art budget of £30K+, directing freelancers and commissioning illustrators and photographers
● Worked with marketing teams to produce digital campaigns and artwork for the magazine
● Produced a new brand-led Media Kit for the advertising team, resulting in a number of successful briefs, pitches and ideas for commercial campaigns

During the course of my employment at Olive magazine I worked at every level on the creative side to produce a monthly magazine: designing, commissioning and art directing. I worked on the magazine from concept to print.
Key achievements:
● Swiftly moved from Junior Designer to leading and directing the creative monthly publication of the magazine in the absence of my Art Director
● As well as designing pages for the magazine, I also worked as an art director on food photo-shoots, briefing photographers, prop stylists and art-directing on set
● Developed my art-direction skills by prop-styling food photo-shoots and visiting prop houses, influencing the creative direction of shoots from concept to published article
