Summer on Muhu

Summer on where?! I love covering places that are little known or overlooked. Muhu is a tiny island off Estonia and is bypassed even by Estonians, who tend to rush through it on their way to the larger island of Saaremaa just beyond. I travelled with photographer Adrienne Pitts one summer to meet the residents, spending time with craftspeople, historians, chefs and story-tellers among others. It's one of those places that people plan to stay in for a few months or a year, and then end up never leaving: we wanted to find out why. Layout by Mike Cutting.
